The demands of bonefishing require a balance of long and short casts with precise presentation. RIO’s Bonefish line does just that, starting with a medium-length front taper to improve turnover without sacrificing presentation, and a slightly longer back taper to smooth out the casting loop. The tropical AgentX coating combined with a Powerflex single-strand monofilament core and the new Extreme Slickness (XS) Technology results in longer casts and a line that will not wilt in most extreme tropical conditions. With AgentX, the line floats higher than competitors’ lines, is easier to pick up off the water, and unlike competing products the running line will not sink and tangle while wading. Includes a welded loop at both ends for easy rigging. Size : WF6F – WF9F Length : 100 ft (30.5 m) Color : Tan

For 2008 RIO has improved the Selective Trout line by making it a softer and more supple fly line so that it comes straight off the reel and without any memory. RIO has also added the new Extreme Slickness Technology, creating a super slick, dirt-repelling coating. For discerning anglers and technical fishing, these unique weight forward and double taper lines are designed for trout fishing where presentation is of the utmost importance. A must-have line for the serious lake angler. Castability has always been a problem with clear intermediate sinking lines because there are no lubricants in the coating and the lines drag through the guides. RIO has solved the problem by incorporating proprietary lubricants into the running line coating that make the line slick. The running line is translucent green while the head is completely clear. With an intermediate sinking rate of 1.5 – 2.0 inches per second (3.7 cm/s), the line is perfect for fishing subsurface and shallow shore lines. Ideal when stealth is required for wary, selective fish. Made on a low memory supple monofilament core with a coldwater coating and welded loop on the front end. Size : WF3I - WF9I Length : 100 ft (30.5 m) Color : Clear AquaLux head with green tint running line

Casting heavy or wind-resistant flies has always been a challenge, even for good casters. RIO collaborated with Bob Clouser, famed fly tier, guide, instructor and conservationist, best known for inventing the Clouser Minnow, one of the most versatile flies for both fresh and saltwater. The Clouser™ line, with a unique reverse compound taper and a bullet front taper, smoothly transfers energy to prevent the characteristic “kick”with heavily weighted flies. This taper effortlessly turns over heavy flies into the wind for both short and long casts. Length: 100 ft (30.5 m) Free Shipping!

Use the RIO Nymph line for nymph fishing under all fishing conditions, whether indicator, high stick or dead drift nymphing and terrestrials. Rated number one by Western professional guides for deep nymphing using strike indicators and long drag free drifts. The taper design, with both a long back taper and body for easy roll casting, mending and fly control, enhances casting weighted nymphs, indicators and big air-resistant flies. RIO’s new high floatation technology creates a super high floating tip that stays up under normal conditions. This high visibility tip is a built-in strike indicator which can be cut off without affecting the casting performance. The Nymph line has welded loops on both ends for easy rigging and fast leader changes. This line can be used with many fly fishing techniques, such as: Drifting nymphs and egg patterns with indicators when fishing for steelhead and salmon; casting terrestrials and other big bugs, hoppers, stoneflies or streamers; upstream nymphing with bead heads and other weighted flies, as well as high stick nymphing; New Zealand’s South Island, where the angler has to cast into the strong downstream NW Canterbury winds of 30 mph (50 kph) and still get a good turnover; NZ’s Tongariro nymph technique, where the angler overhead or roll casts long distances with indicators and flies; Czech nymphing where the highly visible tip makes the slightest “stop” of the line very noticeable to the angler.
