Adams, Irresistible

The Irresistible Adams Fly is an older variation of the most famous American dry fly but continues to be among the top multi-purpose dry flies available to the fly fisherman. The clipped deer hair body keeps this irresistible trout fly buoyant and visible. It works as both a mayfly and searching pattern for swift rivers or smaller freestone streams where fly fishing in pocket water is effective.

Pale Morning Dun, Rusty, Spinner, Foam

Many fly fishermen know that the worst part of fishing a spinner fall can be determining which dot on the water is your fly. The Rusty Foam PMD Spinner is actually visible to the angler while providing the fish with nothing but a realistic spent mayfly silhouette.

Elk Hair Caddis, Brown

Buoyant, visible, and very fishy, the Brown Elk Hair Caddis is one of those fishing flies every angler should have in a variety of sizes and colors. Some fly fishing guides and serious fly fishermen dedicate entire dry fly boxes to this one pattern. This is possibly the best caddis fly pattern for grayling and trout fishing around the world.

X-Caddis, Black

The Black X-Caddis fly adds a Z-lon tail to the classic elk hair silhouette to create a trout fly that is irresistable to feeding fish. Born in the fly fishing waters around Yellowstone, this dry fly has been proven effective wherever caddis live. Fly fishers should consider having this fishing fly in multiple sizes and colors for a variety of fly fishing situations. In the right sizes and colors it can also fool fish looking for a hatching mayfly.

Trico, Dun, Parachute

This Parachute Trico Dun dry fly is very visible to the fly fisher and very realistic to rising trout. It closely resembles a hatching or spent Trico mayfly and lands upright more often than some other traditionally hackled trout fly patterns.

Stone, Fluttering

The Fluttering Stone imitates a struggling or egg laying stonefly and is irresistable to big fish. Trout will often feed on stoneflies until they are absolutely full so it pays to hit the hatch just as it begins and follow the big flies upstream as the hatch progresses.

Pale Morning Dun, Thorax

Fishermen on tricky tailwaters and spring creeks perfected the thorax style mayfly imitation. This Thorax Pale Morning Dun Fly is designed to provide buoyancy and balance on the water especially in the smaller hook sizes. Trout seem to prefer the more even and realistic ride provided by the clipped hackle.

Ant, CDC, Cinnamon

Cinnamon CDC Ants are great searching terrestrials and also work well when blind cast where fish are likely to hold. This cinnamon ant fly also works well when presented to rising fish that refuse other offerings. A fish that begins feeding on ants will often key on them even when they aren’t noticed drifting in the water. This high floating and visible pattern is among the best ant dry flies available.

Ant, Chernobyl

The Chernobyl Ant is an improbable foam and rubber creation that simply works. Fish may take it for a cricket or beetle or may simply see something that looks tasty. This is a fantastic big trout fly when nothing else seems to work and is always fun to fish.
